Celebrating Eid al-Fitr at Queen’s
Queen’s community gathered to mark Eid al-Fitr, a time for celebration.
On Friday 20th March, Queen’s University Belfast demonstrated its commitment to a diverse and inclusive environment with a successful Eid al-Fitr celebration in the Blue Sky Room at One Elmwood.
The event was a testament to the power of partnership, jointly delivered by the One Elmwood International Student Engagement Team, the iRise Staff Network, and the Diversity and Inclusion Unit, with vital support from the Queen’s Islamic Student Society and The Language Centre.
The gathering provided a meaningful platform for staff and students to connect and celebrate the occasion through traditional food and dress. It was wonderful to see so many staff and students attending in their cultural attire, sharing their heritage and traditions with the wider community. We are proud of the collaborative spirit that made this event possible and thank everyone who attended for contributing to our university’s rich cultural tapestry.
